Abergele Community Action works with the local community to deliver life-changing, sustainable projects to bring about a real change, not only in individual lives, but also in the community.

Our Story.....

When a group of volunteers came together in 2001 as Abergele Youth Action with the aim of providing opportunities and activities for young people we could not have imagined the journey that we were embarking upon!

In 2005 we moved into Hesketh House and developed an internet Café and community hub known as Itaca… and by 2008 we had registered Abergele Community Action Ltd as a Charity and company limited by guarantee serving the whole community with access to the internet, computers and the skills to use them.  Our community café opened up opportunities for work experience and volunteering.

In 2013 we launched Abergele District Foodbank, affiliated to Trussell Trust and in 2018 we developed Abergele Community Money Advice authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and affiliated to the national organisation Community Money Advice.  In 2019 our young people relocated to their own building and Abergele Youth Shed was born!!!

In February 2024 Abergele Community Shop was launched!!!!

In October 2024 The Hive was opened!!!

Together we are

Abergele Community Action

Funding

Without the support and generosity of the local community and funders we would not be able to deliver this vital project which benefits so many local people.

Obtaining funding for our work can be challenging and we are grateful for every contribtion whether it is large or small.
